Imagine decades ago, a loving mother put away these baby shoes that several of her offspring wore before they could walk. Think about the fact that they passed through some generations before I came across them. At one time they were supple, shiny and new. We who love antiques love them even now. They were at one time dark brown or black stained leather, trimmed with strong ribbon and lined with cotton twill. Marked on the sole on the toe area with 2. No other markings. These have a great little slipper like line at the throat as well as a bit of leather scalloped and attached to a little metal buckle. Measurements taken at the sole are about 4.75” long by 1.5” at the widest point. Although I believe they were made for a baby, I have seen similar shoes designed for bru dolls. For display by a collector or historical society or even for the right sized victorian doll. Age estimate 1880 to 1910. They are in Fragile condition but still worthy of someone’s love.
